History and Background
Bang & Olufsen is a Danish company founded in 1925 near Quistrup Struer in Central Jutland. The company designs and manufactures high-end appliances and audio-visual products.
Fascinated by radio, Peter Bang (1900-1957) studied engineering and graduated in 1924. He met Svend Olufsen (1897-1949) and together they explored the field of radios. This moment can be seen as the start of a long lasting partnership and the start of B&O.
Over the following decades, the two friends develop new audio products, radios, amplifiers, speakers, gramophones and sound recording equipment. The company became a major player in this sector in the Danish market.

B&O collaborates with leading architects and designers like Sigvard Bernadotte, Acton Bjørn, Jakob Jensen and David Lewis. The company offers a range of products characterized by a minimalistic design for high-end consumers in the radio, television and hi-fi.
Bang & Olufsen is world renowned for its distinctive range of quality televisions, music systems and high-performance loudspeakers; products that combine technological excellence with emotional appeal in a sensational design language.
Bang & Olufsen products are sold mainly by an extensive, independent retail network across more than 100 countries.
The majority of these retailers are concept stores, which exclusively sell Bang & Olufsen products.
Furthermore, Bang & Olufsen partnered up with some luxury car-manufacturers like BMW, Aston Martin, Mercedes-AMG and Audi.
